OBFN Presidents Meeting October 3rd, 2009 Top Six Tournament at Lake Hudson

Meeting called to order:

Nominations for Spring Qualifier Lakes 2010:
Troy Enmeier nominated Grand Lake and Lee Sanders seconded
Troy Enmeier nominated Lake Texoma and Lee Sanders seconded

Nominations ceased

A vote was called for the two nominated lakes and was passed unanimously.

Nominations were taken for which trails that the qualifiers would miss in the Spring of
2010.
It was decided to continue to schedule around the Nichols trails and the BASS weekend
series events and Legend trail if possible.

Entry fees were confirmed to be #200 as passed on March 14th meeting.

A motion was made by Lee Sanders and seconded by Mike Myers that the OBFN would pay whatever fees were left when then money from the higher entry fees was collected. The motion passed seven yes votes to one no vote

Lee Sanders made a motion to cut the fees to $100 dollars for the fall qualifier. There were no seconds and the motion died on the floor.

Conservation director Gene Gilliland updated everyone about the progress of the spider block program, spider blocks will be available to clubs soon to place in a lake of their choice.

Eligibility for upcoming qualifiers was discussed in regards to participating in youth events. How is tournament committee going to enforce the rules for not fulfilling the youth obligation. What would the penalty be? Members of the 2009 state team were required to either be at Camp Cavet or Burn Camp plus participate in two other youth events.

Lee Sanders made a motion to deduct 10 points for each event missed from the participants final qualifiers score up to a maximum of 30 points. David Morgan seconded the motion. A vote on the motion was called  and passed six yes votes to zero no votes with two abstaining.

David Morgan made a motion to require anyone who is going to participate in the 2011 OBFN Qualifiers must have participated in a youth event before being allowed to enter the qualifiers. The motion was seconded by Gene Gilliland. A vote was called and the motion passed seven yes votes to zero no votes with one abstaining.

A request was made to ensure everyone has given the secretary, Richard Minyard, current email addresses.

A motion was made to adjourn the meeting and seconded.

The next meeting will be on November 6th before the pairings meeting at the first qualifier on Ft. Gibson.
